Join us for a series of short presentations exploring the hidden threat to our chalk streams posed by the widespread use of chemicals in our everyday lives. Our chalk streams run crystal clear which may make you think that the water is pure and clean, but increasingly we are finding an alarming range of chemicals in our chalk groundwater and rivers. We will be finding out what these chemicals are and how they get into our chalk streams and exploring the impact that they are having on life in our rivers. There will be time for discussion so that we can share our experiences and start to shape ideas about what can be done about this growing issue.
