Chalk Stream River and Flood Plain Restoration Webinar Like most of our rivers, chalk streams and their flood plains have been modified and managed over centuries and many are no longer functioning in the best way to support a vibrant and dynamic river system. Delivery of restoration projects over many years has improved our valuable chalk streams and the CaBA Chalk Streams Restoration Group want to build on that to achieve even better outcomes by facilitating wider sharing of knowledge, tools and experience. David Sear of Southampton University explains the processes that have created and shaped chalk streams and we hear from a variety of practitioners about how a good understanding of how chalk streams work has underpinned their delivery of recent projects.
