Futurescapes is the RSPB’s UK-wide programme of landscape-scale conservation initiatives.
Due to decades of habitat loss, the most threatened UK species are hemmed into fragmented habitats, mostly in protected areas. However, it is evident from current conservation research that this method of conservation is not enough.
The Futurescapes project reconnects specific areas of land that were formally fragmented to provide a rich habitat for wildlife and diverse, green spaces for people to enjoy.
