Engaging the Rural Sectors in Catchment Partnership activity: Aspirations and Good Practice

Organisation: Various

Location: National

Type: Research

Rural industries (forestry, agriculture and wider agricultural supply chain) have a crucial role in helping to protect water and the wider catchment environment.

We need to ensure they are well represented and actively participating in catchment partnerships.

Following consultation with catchment practitioners, the CaBA Agricultural sub-group (involving representatives from eNGOs, rural industries, water company and government agencies), have developed some guidance on gaining greater participation from rural industries.

The guidance sign-posts to a series of practical case studies illustrating good practice.  It is an initial view of good practice and the Agricultural sub-group are keen to improve it by hearing from partnerships who have key learning (good or not so good) that they would like to share more widely with other partnerships.
