The Humber RBD covers an area of over 26,000 sq km and is one of the most diverse regions in England, ranging from the upland area of the Peak District, South Pennines, and North York Moors, across the Derbyshire and Yorkshire Dales and the fertile river valleys of the Trent and Ouse to the free-draining chalk of the Yorkshire and Lincolnshire Wolds. The landscape contains several major urban centres including Birmingham, Leeds and Sheffield, and more than 10.8 million people live and work in towns and cities across this area.


The Catchment-Based Approach website is designed to showcase the work of catchment partnerships aross England and Wales and to encourage the sharing and adoption of best practice in stakeholder-led catchment managment planning, delivery and evaluation.
