There is currently no Catchment Based Approach in Scotland, however, Fisheries Management Scotland is the representative body for Scotland’s network of District Salmon Fishery Boards (DSFBs), the River Tweed Commission and Rivers and Fisheries Trusts and may be able to help you.
Members work hard to safeguard the interests of Scotland’s valuable and iconic wild freshwater fisheries, by promoting and delivering best practice in fishery management. Their member network is made up of the 41 DSFBs and 26 Fisheries and Rivers Trusts.
The DSFBs have statutory powers and duties in relation to the conservation and management of salmon and sea trout and constituted in legislation. The Rivers and Fisheries Trusts are charities and represent a collective resource of professional knowledge and practical expertise, employing a broad spectrum of full-time fisheries managers, biologists, project and field staff around Scotland.
