The hydromorphology for river restoration (Level 2) will build on the Introduction to Hydromorphology course and provide more in-depth knowledge of hydromorphological driver/process/form/pressure interaction and how they apply to river restoration. Participants will be introduced to detailed hydromorphological concepts such as river types, sediment transport and channel adjustment using evidence taken from the literature and interactive break-out sessions. The relevance of these concepts to river restoration planning and delivery will be discussed and participants will work in groups to apply their knowledge to a case study. Plesae note there is no site visit for this course.
Requirements: participants should have attended the Introduction to Hydromorphology (Level 1) course, or the River Habitat Survey Certification course, or demonstrate equivalent knowledge. There will be no complex processing of data, calculations or software used as part of this course.
