The Thames WaterBlitz is a free and exciting activity open to anyone within the Thames Valley. The WaterBlitz is a four-day event run by Earthwatch where volunteers use water testing kits to collect as many water quality samples as possible. The aim is to get an overview of the water quality in rivers, lakes, ponds and streams throughout the Thames Valley.
This will be the ninth WaterBlitz taking place in the Thames Valley, but will be the first pan-European WaterBlitz event: Luxembourg, Paris and Dublin will all be joining for the first time this year, to help us on our mission to understand and solve water quality issues.
This autumn’s WaterBlitz will run between the 20th-23rd September. WaterBlitzes are a fun learning experience for any volunteer that is interested in their local environment, and would like to learn more about water quality. This year’s WaterBlitz is funded by Thames Water as part of its ongoing commitment to local water quality through the Community Investment Fund.
