What do we know about eDNA?

I’m struck by its’ potential to demonstrate the presence of salmon in our uplands once we have installed all the necessary fish passes. So I have a few questions that I hope someone might be able to help with….

Is it reliable? How much might it cost? Who could we approach for some testing?

    Hi Geoff,

It would be worth contacting the 1000 rivers project for some guidance as they are looking at Salmon populations using eDNA globally. It is Nature Metrics who carry out the analysing and I have used them. They are very helpful and fairly quick on turnaround times too. You get a ‘hub’ to log in to to track progress and view results.
