This is where you come in?
We have a fantastic opportunity for 3 Catchment Advisors (full and part time) to join our Catchment Team, the roles will cover from north Warrington, east to the edge of the Peak District, south to Vyrnwy and the River Dee and west to the Wirral.
This is a key role to the business to improve and protect raw water quality and quantity in both our ground and surface drinking water sources. You will be responsible for delivering, monitoring and reporting on catchment-specific advice and projects.
What will you focus on?
You will use your knowledge of diffuse pollution issues and catchment management to deliver new and existing schemes and interventions to improve water quality. You will monitor, carry out investigations and report on potential polluting events and activities. Using your excellent communication skills you will provide advice on protecting water quality to farmers and other stakeholders.
Your excellent organisation and presentation skills will enable you to manage and deliver steering group meetings and represent United Utilities in local stakeholder groups.
What do you need?
You will have a qualification in Agriculture, Land and Water Management or Environmental Science. Your great negotiation and project management skills will be vital in this role, along with attention to detail. You will need to have a good understanding of water company drivers for catchment management and their diverse delivery mechanisms. Excellent communication and team working skills are required as you’ll be dealing professionally with internal and external bodies and third parties across all levels.
