The success of projects aiming to improve rivers for wildlife and people is largely influenced by the involvement of volunteers. We understand the importance of this contribution and wish to acknowledge those that may otherwise not get recognition.
‘River Champions’ seeks to recognise and celebrate the outstanding efforts of individuals contributing to river restoration in their area. It aims to recognise those dedicating time outside of their day-to-day roles to contribute toward improving rivers for wildlife and people.
The selected River Champions will be recognised in a number of ways, including being invited to the UK River Prize Dinner on April 30th 2019 to receive a River Champions Certificate; documented on the RRC website where their contribution and achievements will be detailed on a permanent River Champions webpage; and presented on a ‘2019 River Champions’ poster in the Poster Session at the 2019 RRC Annual Network Conference from 30th April – 1st May 2019.
